The Course:

The ride takes you out and back on FM2810, a beautiful, low-traffic road which cuts through rolling ranch land, offering views of the Chinati Mountains in the distance and cactus, wildflowers and high-plains grassland in the foreground.

The road is remote, but you will not be alone! Volunteers will run SAG during both the 100k and 50k rides. They will be available to give a ride if needed or offer mechanical assistance.

Aid stations will be located at the 10 mile mark, 16 mile mark (50k turn-around), 22 mile mark, and 32 mile mark (100k turn-around). Each aid station will be stocked with water coolers with normal and electrolyte water and volunteers will be on hand to help with any minor mechanical issues. Snacks and Port-a-potties will be available at the 16 mile and 32 mile aid stations.

The weather in October can be unpredictable. Some years it has been hot and sunny, and others cold and rainy. There is often a headwind either on the way out, or on the way back. The road is very exposed, with little to no shade or cover along the 32 mile stretch. Please come prepared for a variety of weather conditions!
